The Mamiya RB67 Professional is a medium format SLR camera which produces images in 6x7cm on number 120 roll film. Its 6x7cm format is often referred to as the "ideal" format - and with good reason. Unlike 6x6cm negatives which more often than not end up being cropped fiercely during printing (How often do you want a square print?), the RB67 “ideal” format translates readily into 8x10in prints with only the most marginal wastage of frame area. This highly versatile camera is constructed on a modular design; all major components including the lens, the viewfinder and film backs are readily interchangeable - no tools required. During a shoot, changing from landscape to portrait takes approximately 5 seconds – no twisting the camera, no contortions - simply rotate the film back! As shown, the equipment on offer comprises the following modular components: an RB67 Professional camera body, an f/3.8 - 90mm Sekor lens, a 10-on-120 roll film back, a vertical optical viewfinder with inbuilt CdS metering, a waist level viewfinder with magnifier, a universal rack & pinion bellows lens hood plus a dedicated platform grip which features locating pins and a LH carry handle with trigger operated shutter release. All of these items are original Japanese made Mamiya. This particular camera has had an easy life; the bellows are in excellent condition, the rack and pinion focussing is free of back-lash, the shutter speeds are accurate and the lock-outs are in working order. Needless to say, the outfit has been well cared for – I’ve even kept the plastic covers! It is becoming increasingly difficult to source these classic cameras in good condition. Given the upsurge of interest in silver gelatine imaging, this is not just a nice camera outfit. In the right hands this is a tool with the potential to earn a living. Located in Springvale Victoria.
